Texas State Representative District 112
Conservative Republican Angie Chen Button is in a runoff for Texas State Representative District 112 against a negative campaigning RINO. Angie, a very positive person, never even mentioned her opponent’s name during the primary in spite of the fact he put out numerous “smear” pieces against her and his other opponent. Angie is running on a platform that is pro-business, anti-illegal immigration, pro-life, pro-2nd Amendment, opposes new taxes, and will reform the property tax appraisal process.

There is no difference between a half truth and a lie if they are both intended to deceive you. Many of you have seen Randall Dunning’s half truths posted on this web site where he says “Angie Supports Democrats.” The two facts he doesn’t tell you are that he, Randall Dunning, has financially supported and worked for Democrats within the last two years. One Democrat he supported beat two Republicans. The second fact he doesn’t tell you is that Angie Button’s Democrat donations were years ago and that she currently has a stellar history of personally funding Republican candidates, including Randall Dunning, and her having raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for Republicans. Angie has reached the Eagle level for her donations and fundraisers.
Angie now needs your help. Her opponent is being heavily funded by out-of-district deep pockets who send out mailers, make phone calls, produce ads, etc. in a way that Dunning does not have to report them on his financial statements. That way he can cry “poor me”.
Please support the true Republican conservative Angie Chen Button.

The best Republican candidate to replace Chuck Hagel in the U.S. Senate is Jon Bruning.
Bruning, Nebraska's attorney general since 2002 and a state senator before that, is a solid Republican, who has used his office to improve justice for victims of crime and to reduce the taxpayers' burdens in Nebraska.
Before Hagel decided to retire from the U.S. Senate on Sept. 12, 2007, Bruning planned to challenge Hagel in the primary. In the second quarter of 2007, Bruning reported raising twice as much money as Hagel. This, plus his two statewide elections, demonstrates Bruning's deep, loyal support in Nebraska. It also shows Nebraska Republicans are lining up behind Bruning, and that he will be the strongest candidate.
In order to keep this seat Republican, Bruning needs to be the Republican candidate for U.S. Senate in Nebraska.

Office of Election:
U.S. Congress, Texas 22nd District
For the first time ever, Texas' 22nd Congressional District is being represented by a liberal Democrat. It is one of the top three "pick-up" seats in the country for Republicans and a race all Texans will be watching.
Pete Olson is running for the Republican nomination in this seat to take on Democrat Nick Lampson. He is a distinguished and decorated Navy veteran - having served for nine years and flown missions over the Persian Gulf, South China Sea, much of the Pacific.
After his service in the Navy, Pete was asked by then Senator Phil Gramm to join his staff in Washington working on military and defense issues. After Senator Gramm retired, Senator John Cornyn asked Pete to be his Chief of Staff - a position that Pete held for the last five years before moving back to the 22nd District.
Pete is very concerned about the damage the Democrat leadership in Congress has brought in the last eight months: de-funding our troops in the field, raising taxes significantly, creating new tax-funded benefits for illegal aliens, and increased power for labor unions and plaintiff lawyers.
• Pete will be a defense and national security hawk in Congress. He believes the federal government's first and highest priority is to protect our country.
• He believes free and market-based economies work best for America and will fight to make sure a liberal Congress doesn't strangle the economic growth and opportunities our entrepreneurs create.
• Pete also believes our government spends too much and evaluates itself too little. He will work to identify and sunset programs and spending that is redundant, wasteful, or simply un-needed.
• Protecting and growing the middle-class families of our country will also be a focus for Pete. They are the engine of our economy and backbone of our nation. Pete will introduce new tax-relief and tax-credits to help ensure families can meet their priorities and secure their future.

Why Duncan Hunter you ask? Let me go through the long list of reasons he is the most qualified candidate currently running for the Republican nomination and eventually the presidency.
Let's go through some excerpt from my letter. I'll bold and indent what I wrote in the original letter.
The Republican Party needs a change of direction and a refocusing on its core values. Find new leadership for the Republican Party. ... We need leadership that is decidedly conservative...
I can find no other candidate with conservative credentials as solid as Mr. Hunters. The American Conservative Union gives Mr. Hunter a lifetime rating of 92 – and that’s over 26 years of service!
We can only move forward with a renewed commitment to our core values and principles. Republicans did not just lose the majority - we lost our way - we walked away from the limited government principles that highlighted the Republican Congress. We walked away from those principles in letting those among us violate the rules of ethics, common sense morals and God given laws.
A friend of Mr. Hunters (who has known him for almost 30 years) that I met just last week made an interesting comment to me that proved once again what I had already believed to be true about Mr. Hunter. She said, “Duncan has no skeletons in his closet”. That was wonderful news – albeit rare in these days. How many of us can make that statement about ourselves? Certainly not me….. It will be refreshing to have a candidate – and a President – who doesn’t have to explain past mistakes! The Family Research Council gives Mr. Hunter a 100% rating, indicating a very strong record of family values that include protecting marriage, the unborn, religious freedoms for Christians (not just non-Christians), and protecting the Pledge of Allegiance. The Eagle Forum gives Mr. Hunter a 92 rating and The Christian Coalition rates him at 100%.
We must remain dedicated to a balanced federal budget, entitlement reform and limited federal government. Balance the federal budget but not by increasing spending and raising taxes. Cut spending and reduce government. These are core Republican principles, and we must return to them.
From Mr. Hunters website he says “I support a balanced federal budget, with additional revenue provided by economic growth, not increased taxes” and “A balanced federal budget is a priority for our national economic health and long-term prosperity.”
We must work to overhaul the tax code.
Mr. Hunter says, “The current tax code unfairly imposes a penalty on married couples and I believe legislative action is needed immediately.” “I firmly support reform of the Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT) and believe it is the most pressing individual income tax issue facing Americans today.” “I believe our current tax code is full of antiquated policies that were installed for a specific reason and for a specific time, but never removed.” “Clearly, major tax reform is necessary. I have consistently supported efforts to reform the tax code, making it simpler, fairer, and more growth oriented. By replacing our current convoluted and fraud-ridden system with more simplified tax requirements, I believe we will be able to meet the dual goals of providing core government services and returning much needed income back to our families.” According to On the Issues website Mr. Hunter voted YES on all of the following: retaining reduced taxes on capital gains & dividends, providing tax relief and simplification, making permanent an increase in the child tax credit, permanently eliminating the marriage penalty, making the Bush tax cuts permanent, eliminating the Estate Tax ("death tax"), $46 billion in tax cuts for small business. Americans for Tax Reform give Mr. Hunter a lifetime rating of 88.5 and he has signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge . The National Tax Limitation Committee gave him an ‘A’ for the 109th Congress (05-06) and he even gains a ‘B’ from the National Taxpayers Union..
We must fix Social Security. The way things are right now there will likely not be funding to support me, my children and definitely not my grandchildren. Privatizing Social Security may be the solution; raising social security tax is not.
Mr. Hunter’s record indicates he believes we need to find ways to strengthen the Social Security program. He voted yes on raising 401(k) limits & making pension plans more portable, on reducing tax payments on Social Security benefits and has stated that taxes on Social Security earnings should be reduced.
Determine a real direction for Iraq. Decide on a specific goal, make that happen and get our troops out. I fully support our troops and what we are doing in Iraq but at some point Iraq needs to step up and take responsibility for themselves. We aren’t going to solve all of their ethnic problems – they will need guidance and help – but they must learn to do that. While we are there we need to do everything in our power to better protect the lives of our troops first and foremost.
From the Core Principles section of his website Mr. Hunter states “The greatest protection of human rights in this decade has been the overthrow of the Taliban in Afghanistan and the overthrow of Saddam Hussein in Iraq. Religious freedom is part and parcel of any free society the U.S. stands up. I also strongly support U.S. efforts to establish free societies in Iraq and Afghanistan.”
Real immigration reform must take place and our borders have to be made secure. We must fix the problem of illegal immigration without amnesty. Those who are here illegally are criminals and must not be rewarded.
Mr. Hunter voted yes on building a fence along the Mexican border, on preventing tipping off Mexicans about Minuteman Project, on reporting illegal aliens who receive hospital treatment and has been rated 100% by FAIR, indicating a voting record restricting immigration. He states on his website “Protecting our homeland begins at our nation’s borders and it is imperative that our border enforcement agencies be provided with the necessary resources to ensure that we know both who and what are entering the country. I believe in providing Border Patrol and Immigration and Customs Enforcement corps with sufficient strength to secure our borders and providing for interior enforcement throughout the country because it is imperative in our fight to protect Americans. … Building fences in strategic locations along our international borders is a proven method of keeping America safe and, despite recent attempts to undo the Congressional mandated funding provided for this effort, I am committed to this effort and confident the fence will be built.”
We must do everything within our power to confirm conservative judges – judges who will strictly interpret the Constitution and laws and not legislate from the bench.
Mr. Hunter’s view on judges? He says “I support people with good judgment, proven values, a belief in God, and a heart for the least of us, including the unborn. I believe it is important that those sitting on the bench understand that they have a responsibility to strictly interpret our nation’s laws and not legislate from the bench with their own political or social agenda.”
We must do everything in our power to protect the sanctity of innocent life. Protect the unborn at all stages – from embryo to delivery.
Mr. Hunter introduced the Right to Life Act which legally defines “personhood” at the moment of conception and which would grant all constitutional rights to the unborn. He opposes human cloning, embryonic stem-cell research, and federal funding of abortions. Mr. Hunter was also given (and this is my favorite rating) a 0% rating by NARAL, indicating a pro-life voting record and a 100% rating from the National Right to Life. He stated in May 2007 that it will be a “Good day for America when Roe v. Wade is repealed.”
We must remain committed to the sanctity of marriage as an institution between a man and a woman.
Mr. Hunter cosponsored and voted for H.J. Resolution 88 which proposes an amendment to the U.S. Constitution declaring that marriage in the United States shall consist solely of the union of a man and a woman. He has stated “I firmly believe that children need the unique influence offered by both a father and a mother.”
We must remain strong in our belief in Second Amendment rights, if those rights are stripped from us we lose as a people and as a nation.
Mr. Hunter believes that the 2nd Amendment is an individual right and that “It is about the right of you and me to be secure in our homes. We must vigorously defend against all attempts to chip away at the Second Amendment.” He has received an A+ rating from the NRA.
In addition to the issues I’ve highlighted above Mr. Hunter displays a great dedication to conservative principles on several other issues. You can find more information about how he has voted and how he will lead us as the next President of the United States at his website http://www.gohunter08.com.

Mitch McConnell has been one of the most effective Republican Senate leaders in years, and he's doing it while in the minority. Right on the majority of the important issues we face, Mr. McConnell faces a tough reelection campaign even though he lives in a solid Red State. He will need all the help we can give him in order to ensure continued solid opposition to the Democrats' liberal agenda.

First elected to Congress as part of the Republican Revolution in 1994, Chabot is a member of a select group that has not forgotten the reason that it was elected. Chabot currently serves as the Ranking Member of the House Small Business Committee, a post he uses to promote the interests of this important group of employers. Among other things, Chabot has promoted the Balanced Budget Amendment and the Line Item Veto, both of which are needed to restore fiscal responsibility to the federal government. Not only is Chabot a budget hawk, but he also understands the importance of low taxes. Chabot consistently earns high ratings from Americans for Tax Reform, an organization opposed to all net tax increases.
While Chabot's primary focus is fiscal responsibility, he has also established a solidly conservative record on social issues. Chabot is staunchly pro-life and supports a constitutional amendment defining marriage as between one man and one woman. He is tough on crime while supporting second amendment rights. In keeping with his freedom theme, Chabot opposed McCain-Feingold and supports parental choice in education.
Last year, Democrats made a run at Chabot with John Cranley. Chabot survived the challenge in an extremely tough Ohio environment, which included Democrat victories in Gubernatorial and Senatorial races above him on the ballot. This time, Democrats consider the House seat unfinished business and consider flipping it central to their plans to dominate Ohio politics for decades to come.
This time Chabot will face off against State House Minority Whip Steve Dreihaus. The leftwing blogosphere effort has already raked in over $10,000 for Dreihaus, a tidy sum this early in the cycle. With Ohio sure to be tough again for us in 2008, we need to ensure that Chabot maintains his financial advantage in his effort to fight off what could be an even tougher challenge this time around.

Office of Election:
President of the United States
I would like to suggest Mike Huckabee for President of the United States.
A true conservative, he has steadfastly held to the core principles of the Republican party during his political career. Unlike other candidates, Mike Huckabee's stance on the bedrock conservative values of this party are exactly in line with the tradtional Republican mainstream.
As governor of Arkansas from 1996 to 2007, he introduced initiatives in health care, tax reform, school accountability and fiscal responsibility that earned him the honor as one of the top 5 governors in the country from Time Magazine in 2005. When he left office in 2007, the state of Arkansas had a budget surplus of nearly $800 million. That sort of fiscal responsibility is sorely needed in Washington.
Important to mention is that Mike Huckabee was a Republican governor of a Democratic state. He was able to implement his innovative ideas with the cooperation of the opposing party. This is an important quality -- the ability to form consensus and partnership with the Democrats for the greater good. Again, something that is dearly needed in the devisive Congress in Washington.
Critics have said that Mike Huckabee is a second tier candidate, one who is unelectable. But there are many reports that show he won the Iowa debate. And there certainly is precedent for an intellegent, articulate, charasmatic governor from Arkansas ascending to the White House.
This time, let's make it a Republican.

President of the United States
Many of you may have the question, “John Who?” when reading the name of the candidate I’m proposing. That’s understandable. Let me tell you about John Cox and why you should support him for President.
John Cox is a businessman from the North Side of Chicago. He was born to a single mother and worked his through school at various levels, and worked hard to become a successful businessman.
John Cox has been a committed movement conservative for years. He served on Jack Kemp’s steering Committee when Kemp ran for President in 1988. Cox gave tens of thousands of dollars to Republican Candidates over the years, and even ran for a few offices in one of the bluest of blue states, Illinois. His dedication to rebuilding the Republican party was shown when he entered a race for Cook County Recorder. He ran on a platform of eliminating the position, which had become little more than a patronage job that didn’t serve the needs of the public.
Cox has long been involved in his community, serving on the board of the USO, and the charitable arm of the Chicago Fire MLS Soccer team (Fireworks for Kids), and as a president of school board. What has brought him to the presidential campaign?
Like many conservatives, he looked at our current field and found himself dissatisfied. There were wonderful social conservatives who had shown they couldn’t hold the line on taxes and spending. There were some fiscal conservatives who didn’t understand the moral and social issues of our time. And others on both sides of the divide who have been part of our nation’s problem and not the solution on immigration.
For that reason, John Cox entered the Presidential race, knowing that it would not be easy. He’s put much of his own personal fortune and assets on the line in this campaign and has not gone the route of traditional candidates who’ve focused on raising money. Back when Lamar Alexander ran for President in 1996, he publicly stated that he attended 210 fundraisers to raise the funds necessary for the Presidential campaign. Rather than meeting with special interests behind closed doors, the focus of the campaign has been speaking to the American people in whatever medium becomes available.
Why should you consider Mr. Cox for president? I’d list the following reasons:
· He’s not a career politician. Most of Mr. Cox’s life has been spent in the real world, not in politics. The American people rejected such long-time members as 13-term Florida Congressman E. Clay Shaw in favor of less experienced challengers. Polls show Congress’ approval rating at 14% and the President’s approval rating in the low 30s. Is this really the time to put up another career politician?
· Mr. Cox offers a way forward in Iraq. Our current field on both sides offers us two flawed solutions. One group of candidates proposes that we continue on the current course, which is like suggesting one continue through a tunnel with no light at the end in the hopes of getting somewhere. Another group of candidates, irresponsibly suggests cutting and running, despite military analysis to the contrary. General Norman Schwartzkopf, who initially opposed the war has warned that if we withdrawal early from Iraq, we will be back, as violence will spread throughout the region, and will lead to a wider conflict. One of the under-reported stories is that 4 years after the liberation of Iraq, the Iraqis are pumping less oil than before we went into the Iraq. John Cox wants to focus on getting the oil pumping and rebuilding infrastructure in order to spread prosperity throughout Iraq. While prosperity won’t totally destroy terrorism in Iraq, it will marginalize it. As long as the basic needs of Iraqis are not being met, an open door is being left for Iran and Al Qaeda that would not otherwise be there.
· Mr. Cox is dedicated to conservatism. He believes the principles he talks about on the campaign trail. He’s running for ideas, not to fulfill a lifelong quest to be President.
· Mr. Cox is 100% pro-life, and his vice-presidential candidate and Supreme Court justices will reflect that philosophy.
· He believes in fiscal discipline and will not continue to sign off more debts for our children and children’s children to pay for.
· He understands we must reform social security.
· He supports the Fair Tax.
· He opposes amnesty in the strongest possible terms, while remembering that our nation is a nation of immigrants. He wants to bring immigrants to our country who want to come legally, build a better life for their families, learn English, and become Americans.
Many will take a look at Mr. Cox’s poll and fundraising numbers, and say the task is too great, it’s too hard to even try. Mr. Cox is committed to this race until February. He has budgeted funds to insure the campaign continues, but the rest is up to you.
For too long, we’ve viewed politics as a spectator sport. Candidates go out and raise money, they build organizations, etc. Yet, the fate of this campaign doesn’t lie in Mr. Cox, it lies with the American people. People who’ll hear his message and act on it. You can be the Cox campaign organization, you can be the donors, and have a stake in the future of our country. Send a donation, become involved, give the campaign your support, your vote, and your time. Mr. Cox is committed to this race and to doing what he can to reclaim our country and restore bedrock conservative principles. What about you?

President of the United States
I would like to ask you all for your support of Kansas Senator Sam Brownback for President. His is a full scale conservative; he is a social conservative and an economic conservative. His record speaks for itself and proves that you can trust him to uphold and promote our conservative values. As Sam likes to say, our party is based not on personalities but principles. Sam is pro-life and pro-family and wants to rebuild our culture. He is for victory in the war on terror and favors a three-state plan in Iraq. He wants to bring our country together on the issue becuase he realizes that we cannot win this war with the American people so divided on the issue. Sam wants to secure our borders and is strongly opposed to amnesty. He supports workplace enforcement as a way to protect our workers from those here illegally. He has an A rating from the NRA and is a strong protector of the 2nd Amendment. He supports an optional Flat Tax and just unveiled his new plan last week in Des Moines.
Sam is a man of his word who lives out his values every day. He is pro-life and whole life; he has adopted two children and has spent a night in prison to promote prison reform. He has encouraged and called for action to end the genocide in Darfur. He works to protect the elderly and the sick from discrimination.
Stand with Sam in '08 and make your voice heard.
