Despite Rodriguez’s eight percentage point victory, Larson contends the district - which stretches from San Antonio to El Paso - remains winnable for the GOP, especially with the concentration of votes in his North Side stronghold.
“It looks like it’s still a Republican district if you get the vote out,” said Larson, the lone Republican on the Commissioners Court. “This is one that was lost that never should’ve been lost to the Democratic Party.”
The 47-year-old Larson said he’ll meet with leaders in the 20-county district, gauge how much financial support he could get, and decide whether to run within eight months.
