Pete Olson is in a runoff this April for Texas' 22nd Congressional District which lies in suburban Houston and is a seat currently held by Democrat Nick Lampson. Olson is a former Naval aviator, lawyer and staffer for former U.S. Senator Phil Gramm and current Senator John Cornyn.

Olson was endorsed by RedState, the online conservative community. In their endorsement RedState's directors wrote, "Pete's a local kid made good - went to High School in Clear Lake, graduated from Rice - and he's been endorsed by Gramm and Bill Archer. He is a great father, a solid conservative, and will be an excellent congressman."
