I have watched many a conservative position be filled by a liberal because conservatives as a group are too lazy or disinterested to eject a RINO from office during the primary, instead taking their frustrations out by voting for some third party also ran or simply not showing up in the general election.
The primaries are the prime time to send that message. If your congressman or senator sucks, find an opponent to him in his primary, even if it means running yourself. Make them remember that it is a position that must be earned. Who knows, we may end up with someone who is willing to represent us, and not themselves. However, win or loose in the primary, we need to be solid and support the conservative candidate in the general election.
IMHO, I believe that any sitting congresman or senator who:
- voted for the immigration bill
- voted to pull troops out prior to General Petraeus' Sept progress report
- seems to have an insatiable appetite for pork
- who has not introduced some measure for cutting spending
,should be faced with a serious opposition in the primary. But as I say above, win or loose, we conservatives need to support the winner of that primary in their battle in the general election. to do less is slitting our own, as well as our fellow citizens throats.
Are there other ways to get there attention?
How do we need to organize at the grass-roots level to accomplish this?
I look forward to your comments
